Inspiring the Next Generation at City of Portsmouth College

31/03/26, 11:00

We had a wonderful careers day at City of Portsmouth College.

It was fantastic to spend time with Level 1–3 trades apprentices, discussing future careers, progression in the industry, and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. Engaging with such motivated young people reminded us why investing in the next generation is so important.

Sean Morge shared how rewarding it was to meet so many enthusiastic students and chat about Habens’ 2026 apprenticeship programme. Events like this help young people see the pathways into successful, fulfilling careers and give them a glimpse of what’s possible with dedication and training.

Each year, we employ a selection of apprentices and are proud to grow and nurture them throughout their journey with us. We believe this is vital, not only for developing individual careers, but for strengthening the future of our industry as a whole. By investing in training and mentorship, we’re helping to build a skilled, confident workforce for years to come.

For this year, we have a number of apprenticeship opportunities available across the business, offering hands-on experience, structured learning, and clear progression pathways. It’s an exciting time to join us, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the next cohort of apprentices into the team.

We’re excited to support these future tradespeople as they take their first steps into the industry. We can’t wait to see how these apprentices grow and develop in the years ahead.
