A Beach Day with a Purpose: Our Team Takes on the Million Mile Clean

28/04/26, 11:00

Last Friday, our office team stepped away from their desks and headed to the coast. Swapping screens for sea air, we travelled to Southsea Beach to take part in the Million Mile Clean initiative, organised by Surfers Against Sewage.

The aim of the day was simple: roll up our sleeves and help protect one of the UK’s most loved natural environments. Armed with gloves, bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, the team spent the afternoon combing the shoreline, collecting litter, and doing our small part to tackle marine pollution.

What quickly became clear was that this wasn’t just about cleaning a beach. It was about connection, with the environment, with the local community, and with each other. Away from the usual office setting, the team came together with a shared sense of purpose, and the impact of that was felt by everyone involved.

Of course, no beach day would be complete without embracing the sea itself. To round off the experience, the team took part in a sponsored sea dip, a refreshing (and very brisk!) way to celebrate the day’s efforts. Afterwards, we warmed up in a beachside sauna, taking a moment to reflect on what we’d achieved together.

The day served as a powerful reminder that even small actions can contribute to meaningful change. It also highlighted the importance of stepping outside our normal routines, not just for team wellbeing, but to engage with causes that matter.

We’re proud to have been part of the Million Mile Clean and grateful for the opportunity to support such an important initiative. It’s a day we won’t forget in a hurry, and certainly one that has inspired us to keep looking for ways to make a positive impact beyond the office.
